We are no ordinary preschool. Following Maria Montessori principles, we deliver a curriculum that develops a love of learning based on respectful relationships, and in harmony with nature.
Our traditions are founded on kindness and respect for each child as a unique individual. Together we are on a journey of creating a magical childhood for your child, based on respectful relationships and in harmony with nature.
We are a Gold Award member of Enviroschools; one of only four ECE centres in New Zealand. Little Earth is a place of special character where children have access to a natural environment, with plants and animals to inspire their sense of wonder and reconnect them with nature.
We are proud of our beautiful premises. The rammed earth walls, untreated timber, natural light and ventilation, sandstone pavers, and use of other natural renewable resources, creates a healthy environment, a living place with a soul, for our children and teachers to learn and teach. Our beautiful environment provides a balance between freedom, order and responsibility, nurturing and stimulating the spontaneous curiosity within the child, inspiring a love of nature and a love of learning. Together we build lasting joyful memories, keeping the enchantment of childhood alive.

The Education Review Office (ERO) is the New Zealand government department that evaluates and reports on the education and care of students in schools and early childhood services. ERO’s reports are used by parents, teachers, early childhood education managers, school principals and trustees, and by government policy makers.
Early childhood services are reviewed on average once every three years. Reviews will be more frequent where the performance of a school or centre is poor and there are risks to the education and safety of the students, or less frequent where a school has a stable reporting history and demonstrates good self-review processes and use of its assessment information. You can read our centre’s ERO review here.
